Shanghai Standardization Innovation Center ( Logistics )

Shanghai Standardization Innovation Center (Logistics) (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") was approved for establishment by the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation on October 21, 2021, and was awarded a license by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.

The Center closely aligns with the national major logistics and supply chain needs, focusing on practical issues in digital and intelligent transformation and standardization such as green and low-carbon logistics and supply chains, circular industries, and reverse logistics in the new energy, automotive, chemical, equipment, and electronic and electrical industries. It is committed to building a service platform that transforms innovative achievements integrating green low-carbon and digital intelligence into technical standards, creating a "think tank" and "technology empowerment platform" for digital intelligence and standardization in logistics and supply chains, and has pioneered the "Smart RLOM Cloud Platform".

The establishment of Shanghai Standardization Innovation Center (Logistics) is of great significance for enhancing the effective supply of logistics standards, strengthening the transformation of logistics scientific and technological achievements, promoting the internationalization of logistics standards, and facilitating the transformation and high-quality development of Shanghai's logisticsindustry in a more flexible, efficient and convenient manner. At present, under the leadership of Professor Hao Hao, Director of the Center, the team has presided over the formulation and implementation of multiple standards, including 5 national standards, 5 industrial standards, 4 Shanghai local standards, 2 group standards, and 3 enterprise joint standards. Meanwhile, nearly 10 domestic and international standards have been approved for project initiation and are under research. Among them, the first national standards in the fields of reverse logistics, dual-carbon construction of power batteries, and low-carbon supply chains, which are led by the Center, as well as China's first ESG industrial standard, not only fully demonstrate the core role of the Center but also successfully fill the gaps in relevant domestic standards. In addition, Professor Hao Hao, Director of the Center, has led the team to undertake 16 national and provincial-level research projects (with the National Social Science Fund Project "Research on the Construction and Governance of New Energy Vehicle Power Battery Recycling Ecosystem under the Background of Blockchain" as a typical representative) and 38 enterprise-commissioned projects; released the ESG Evaluation Report of China's Listed Logistics Enterprises; obtained 13 domestic and international patents and 12 software copyrights; won a total of 6 first and second prizes for Industry Science and Technology Progress approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and also received important honors such as the "Excellent Exhibit Award" at the China International Industry Fair and the Baogong Logistics Award.

Internationally, in November 2024, the international standard project "Innovative logistics - ESG for logistics - Framework and factors" proposed by a team led by Professor Hao Hao, Director of the Center, successfully passed the vote of member countries of the International Organization for Standardization ISO/TC344 and was officially approved (Reference: ISO/NP 25403). This marks China’s first-ever leadership in formulating an international ESG standard.

In the same month, the eighth plenary meeting of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC 297) was held in a hybrid online and offline format. The meeting unanimously agreed to establish the Ad Hoc Group 2 (AHG 2) on "Guidelines for the collection and transportation of used traction batteries." Professor Hao Hao was officially appointed as the convener of ISO/TC 297AHG 2 through a voting process.

In addition, the team has also led domestic enterprises and universities in participating in the development of four ISO international standards within ISO/TC 297 (Waste Collection and Transportation Management). These efforts have achieved breakthroughs for China in the development of international standards in fields such as ESG and waste management, amplifying China’s voice and securing international influence in these critical areas.
